Gastec Detector Tubes
View the Gastec Gas Detector Tube Guide
We carry an assortment of GASTEC detector tubes. Made from thin glass, these tubes feature clearly marked calibration scales. This allows for technicians to quickly and easily read concentrations of the substances to be measured. Each GASTEC detector tube contains a specific particulate matrix, which binds stabilized detection reagents to create a distinct layer of color change. Because of their clearly marked design, these tubes allow for measurements to be taken on-site by virtually anyone. By adjusting the sampling volume, these tubes allow for a broad measuring range. To ensure precision, each tube comes with its own unique quality control number. Each production lot is tested and calibrated separately. Due to their quality and durability, these tubes feature a long shelf-life and retain their stability over time. Each tube is sealed hermetically at both ends.
SEI certification
GASTEC detector tubes satisfy the quality standards of the stringent SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) certification program. The Safety Equipment Institute is a private, nonprofit organization that was established in the United States in 1981. The SEI administered the first non-government, third-party certification program to accurately test and certify an array of products, from occupational safety instruments to protective gear. The SEI created a national certification system for detector tubes in 1986, which improved and surpassed the existing NIOSH (National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health) certification program. The SEI certification program is accredited by ANSI (American National Standards Institute). These tubes utilize the American National Standard for Gas Detector Tubes – Short Term Type for Toxic Gases and Vapors in Working Environments.
